I . Quiz program

      This is the second All India level quiz program conducted by PSG College of Pharmacy.

II . Subject content for quiz

      40% of the questions will be based on Pharmaceutical Sciences and the remaining will be based on
      General Knowledge.

III . Eligibility for registration

      Students of D Pharm / B Pharm / M Pharm / Pharm D/ Pharm D Post Baccalaureate

      Teams (Not more than two students) selected for final Quiz competition only have to pay Rs 1,000/-as a
       registration fee.

      Cash awards and certificates will be presented to the winners.Trophies will be presented to the
       respective colleges of winners.

About the city
           

Biosphere

Coimbatore is situated in the Western part of the state of Tamil Nadu. It is surrounded by mountains on the west, with reserve forest and the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve on the northern side. Coimbatore is the second biggest city of Tamilnadu and is identified as one of the fast developing metros of India. Kovai Kuttralam, a water fall and a popular tourist destination, is situated about 30 km from the city. The scenic hill stations of Ooty, Munnar, Kodaikanal are in couple of hours of drive from Coimbatore.

       

Climate

Coimbatore has a pleasant, salubrious climate, not reaching the high temperatures of other southern India cities. Coimbatore is located at an elevation of about 398 meters. The mean maximum and minimum temperatures during summer and winter varies between 35°C to 18°C.

Temples

There are numerous temples in the city including the Perur Temple, the Konniamman temple and the Dhyanalinga Yogic Temple. A replica temple of Tirupathi is located in Valparai, Sulur and another near Mettupalayam. A famous ISKCON temple is also located 9 km from the city. Marudamalai, a well known shrine to Murugan, is close to the city.

Transport

Air

The city has an airport (Coimbatore Airport) at Peelamedu. The Coimbatore airport caters to domestic flights to all the major Indian cities and international flights to Sharjah and Singapore.

Rail

The Coimbatore Junction is well connected to major Indian cities like Chennai, Bangalore,hyderabad, Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, New Delhi and Mumbai, besides the neighbouring State of Kerala.

Road

The city has six major arterial roads and three National Highways.

    * NH-47 (Cochin–Salem),
    * NH-67 (Mysore–Nagappattinam) and
    * NH 209 (Bangalore–Dindigul).

Rules and Regulations

a. Each team (Not more than two students) can register in the registration form in www.psgpharma.com
    and have to complete the mock test between: Ist September – 20th September ,2010.

b .Teams should create their own User ID and password and have to remember the User ID and
    password.(Mention your Email Id as your user id)

c .The confirmation of registration of team will be sent to your mail for appearing preliminary test I.

d. Teams have to be appear for the tests online (www.psgpharma.com) in the above said dates at the
    scheduled time from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon of the test day.

e. The time duration to complete Preliminary test II and III will be 60 minutes.

f. Sixty Multiple Choice Questions will be given in all the preliminary rounds. Each question carries one (1)
    mark. After 60 minutes the teams cannot continue the test and the session will automatically close.

g. Selected teams after the preliminary test (I,II,III) will be announced in the website. Selected teams will
    appear for next test. Preliminary test II and III will have negative markings
    for wrong answers.

h. Under any circumstances the date and time of test will not be changed. Any appeals/request in this
    regard will not be entertained.

i. Teams top scoring 24 will be called for the final quiz competition at Coimbatore. Teams have to submit
   registration forms with stamp size photographs affixed and attested by the concerned
    Principal/ HOD/Dean along with Demand draft for Rs.1000/-only.

j. In the final quiz there will be quarter final and semifinal rounds before entering to the final round.

k. Teams selected for final Quiz competition will be given sleeper class train fare (both the ways) for the
   shortest route. Sharing accommodation will be provided for the outstation teams. Teams attending the
    final quiz competition will receive a certificate.

l. In all matters of dispute, the decision of Principal, PSG College of Pharmacy Coimbatore will be final.
