National Seminar on Cancer - Biology and Development of New Chemical Entities
Dear friends and colleagues
The approach of Cancer drug development is constantly changing and challenging. Technical developments in molecular biology have led to a plethora of new screening targets. The common solid tumors such as breast, lung, prostate and colorectal cancer are only partially responsive to drug therapy. Drug resistance is either present at the start or is rapidly acquired through multiple molecular mechanisms.
Current scenario in cancer research led to large number of targets involved in cell transduction mechanism. Understanding the cell function and well defined targets will enhance the cancer research.
Novel cancer drugs have been identified either by screening libraries of chemicals against a specific target using a biochemical assay or by designing structures in silico using a range of sophisticated computer programs and then carrying out the appropriate organic synthesis. Lots of herbs have been screened for anticancer activity and isolated phytochemicals helped as lead molecule in cancer drug development.
This seminar will help to update the scientific knowledge of the scientists working in the field of cancer. Gives opportunity to present their scientific findings and discuss the merits and demerits of cancer drug development program.
We take great pride to organize the National Seminar on Cancer- Biology, New Chemical Entities in Coimbatore. We therefore welcome you to Coimbatore, the Educational hub of this region, to attend and to take part in health promotion of our society.
