Events Held - 2009

ALMIDON 2009

Regional Level Sports and Games Meet of Pharmacy College were conducted from 24th - 28th March 2009. Eight Pharmacy Colleges from Nilgiris, Erode and Coimbatore has participated in this event. The Overall Championship was bagged by PSG College of Pharmacy and the Runner up was Sri Ramakrishna College of Pharmacy.

The Individual championship for Men and Women were bagged by Mr. Brijmohan Singh Rawat of Nandha College of Pharmacy and Ms. R. Suggi Pappa of Sri Ramakrishna College of Pharmacy, respectively.

The sports meet was inaugurated by Dr. A. Muruganathan, Member, Medical Council of India and Member, Governing council, the T.N. Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai and the occasion was felicitated by Dr. S. Ramalingam, Principal, PSG IMS & R, Coimbatore. Chief Guest for the valedictory function was Prof. K. Chinnaswamy, Executive committee Member, Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi and the guest of honor was Thiru. T. Ilango, Registrar, Tamilnadu Pharmacy Council, Chennai.

College Day
College day celebrations was conducted on 27th April 2009. Mr.R.Thiruvengadam, Director (Works), Tablets (India) ltd, Chennai was the chief guest. The function was presided by Dr.R.Rudramurthy, Principal, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore.

Stereochemical adventures in the synthesis of challenging drug molecules
A National level seminar on Stereochemical adventures in the synthesis of challenging drug molecules was conducted on 3-4th July 2009 sponsored by CSIR, Govt of India, New Delhi and DRDO, New Delhi.

Annual conference of Southern Regional Indian Pharmacological society
Annual conference of Southern Regional Indian Pharmacological society was conducted on 12- 14th November 2009. It was organised by PSG College of Pharmacy in association with PSG IMS & R and was sponsored by DST & ICMR, New Delhi.
