WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

The World Environment Rally was held on 09-06-2007.
Mr. Muthuveerran, coimbatore corporation commissioner flag off the rally in presence of Mr. Tyagi, conservaor of Forest, coimbatore circle and Thiru jG. Rangasamy, Managingj Trustee, PSG Insgtitutions. At this Juncture, let each of us jpledge to do a part to fight climate change.

On the culmination of Rally mass memorandum was submitted to the worshipful mayou of coimbatore Thiru. T Venkatachalam and to the deputy Mayour, Thir. N. Karthick.

PHARMACO INFORMATICS WORKSHOP
A National level workshop on PHARMACO INFORMATICS was organized during 24th – 25th March 2007. The workshop was sponsored by Dept of Information technology New Delhi & Dept of Science & Technology New Delhi. Thirty delegates from various fields of life sciences participated & were provided with Hands on training on drug design software’s. Renowned scientists from various parts of the country joined as resource persons. A teleconference was also conducted and scientists from United States also participated.

PHARMACY WEEK CELEBRATION
Pharmacy week was celebrated on 11th November 2006 Dr. T. K. Ravi, Principal, Sri Ramakrishna College of pharmaceutical Sciences delivered a talk on Self Medication. How Safe? Ask your pharmacist.

During pharmacy week celebration, National Integration Program was organized by people service group of our institute. Children from various schools and colleges were invited to participate in elocution, essay competition, drawing competition and quiz competition. Prizes were awarded to the winners.

Dr. Sunil Jambhekar, Professor of Pharmaceutics, South School of Pharmacy, Savannah, USA gave a lecture on “Bioavailability and Bioequivalence” on 21.09.2006 at PSG IMS & R Auditorium

Microwaves-Application on Organic Synthetic & Natural Products

Two Days National Conference on Microwaves-Application on Organic Synthetic & Natural Products was conducted at PSG College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore on 1st and 2nd July 2005. The inaugural address was given by Prof. Dr. S. Sivasubramanian, Vice-Chancellor of Bharathiar Unviersity, Coimbatore. The valedictory function was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. B.G. Nagavi, Principal, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysore as Chief Guest whose valedictory address was well responded.

Technological Innovations in Controlled Drug Delivery
Two Day Workshop on “Technological Innovations in Controlled drug Delivery” was organized by PSG College of Pharmacy on 5th and 6th of January. Around 105 delegates participated in this workshop.

Typhoon’05 - Students Cultural and Sports Event
Typhoon’05, the Sports & Cultural Meet of the college was conducted on 27th &28th Feb 2005. Competitions in many off stage events and on stage events were conducted. The II B.Pharm students won the overall trophy.

Herbal Therapy in Viral Infections
Two day National Level Symposium on Herbal Therapy In Viral Infections – A Perspective was organized on 9th & 10th July, 2004, which is co-sponsored by CSIR, New Delhi. Around 135 delegates participated in the 1st National Level Symposium.

Herbal Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurship Development
Two Day National conference on ‘Herbal Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurship Development’ was organised by PSG College of Pharmacy on 29th&30th October 2004.This Conference was Sponsored by Medicinal Plants Board, New Delhi and Co-sponsored by TamilNadu State Council For Science & Technology ,Chennai. Around 100 delegates participated in this conference.

Rational Use of Drugs
Workshop on Rational Use of Drugs was organized by PSG IMS & R and PSG College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore on 12th December 2004 which was sponsored by World Health Organisation. Around 300 delegates participated in this Workshop.
